"Temperature during day and night time is expected to drop favouring the poultry in the district."
A press release from the Agromet Field Unit of Veterinary College and Research Institute and Regional Meteorological Centre, Chennai, indicated that "the sky would be generally cloudy with chance of fairly widespread rainfall over the district." Maximum temperatures were anticipated around 37 degrees Celsius (98.6 degrees Fahrenheit), while minimum temperatures would reach approximately 23 degrees Celsius (73.4 degrees Fahrenheit). Wind speeds were expected around 8 km per hour from the west, with relative humidity between 42 to 72 percent.
The release noted "weakened Southwest Monsoon over the State and setting up of favourable North East Monsoon parameters were observed." Though westerly winds persisted, "increased moisture content in the wind may favour the beginning of showers in the State in a day or two."
"The weather would be favourable for poultry." The advisory recommended procuring newly arrived maize and feed ingredients based on nutrient composition and mycotoxin levels, noting that high mycotoxin levels decrease immunity and increase disease occurrence.
