Poultry Industry Value Chain in Focus at Hyderabad Event

IPEMA Expo Nov 27–29, 2019 — 375 companies, 99 international, 5 halls

Indian Poultry Equipment Manufacturers Association (IPEMA), with the advice and support of Executive Advisory Committee (EAC), conducted exhibition for the poultry farmers in Hyderabad, India from 27-29 November 2019.

The event showcased the latest methods and technology that are being used around the globe so that farmers can update the most recent developments which help in saving production costs.

Around 375 companies participated in the exhibition including 99 overseas companies which spread over five halls.

India stands second in the world for egg production with production eggs per annum (next to China) and third in the world for broilers (after the USA and China) and is the only country shown consistent growth in poultry.

Poultry Industry is consuming food grains and its residual material of 30 mt, out of which about 10 mt of maize and remaining 20 mt are the residue material of food grains, which humans are not using anymore. This helps agricultural farmers a lot in getting a better price for their products.

Availability and procurement of feed material have become a challenging task in the poultry Industry. To overcome this challenge, it is necessary to assess the demand and plan for the production of the grains accordingly so that grain producers will get stable price and there will not be an acute shortage in the market. In the case of acute shortage, government authorities should act quickly for imports or alternative sources to help the poultry farming community.

Knowledge Day 2019 was held on 26 November with international technical seminars. The conference programmes include keynote address by Dr G Ranjith Reddy (member of parliament Lok Sabha); strategies to address lameness issues in poultry by Rick Kleyn, Specsfeed consultants; "Respiratory Diseases, their economic impact and strategies of reducing it" by Dr Vasudevan Gowthaman, assistant professor TANUVAS; artificial intelligence in poultry by Vincent Guyonnet, FFI consultants and many others.
