The Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission has approved new retail supply rates for the poultry sector which came into on April 1.
The unit rate for poultry farming low tension III and IV categories is Rs. 3.75 and Rs. 4.75 for poultry hatchery and fee mixing (high tension) units.
The fixed charges per kilowatt per month are Rs.21, Rs.55.12 and Rs.385 respectively, according to a press release by Andhra Pradesh Poultry Federation President V. Sundar Naidu.
Farmers have been advised to have separate connections for feed mixing units so that the feed mixing unit connection will be charged at Rs.4.75 and poultry farm connection Rs.3.75.
