Drop in Temperature to Induce Excess Feed Intake in Poultry

Active southwest monsoon advisory — 34°C / 24°C with ~7 km/h westerly wind

With temperature expected to drop in the coming days, the feed intake in poultry is expected to increase.

A press release from the Agromet Field Unit of Veterinary College and Research Institute said that the sky will be generally cloudy with chance of scattered rainfall in the next three days.

Maximum and minimum temperature will be 34 degree Celsius (93.2 degree Fahrenheit) and 24 degree Celsius (75.2 degree Fahrenheit) respectively.

Wind speed will be around 7 km per hour, mostly from west.

Due to active southwest monsoon over the State, general cloudiness, scattered drizzling and elevated wind will continue in the district.

The release said that lowered temperature may induce excess feed intake in poultry and also cause feed wastage. Hence, farmers were asked to observe the weather and feed the poultry accordingly.
