Avoid Feeding Poultry During Day Time

Heat-wave advisory — IMD forecasts 40°C → 41°C over April 17–19, ~6 km/h SE wind

With mercury level soaring, poultry farmers were asked to avoid feeding poultry between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. and ensure supply of cold drinking water, particularly between 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. to avoid mortality during night hours.

Officials of the Agromet Field Unit of Veterinary College and Research Institute here said that the Indian Meteorological Department, New Delhi, has predicted increase in temperature over the next three days. They said that the temperature is expected to be 40 degree Celsius on April 17 and increase to 41 degree Celsius on April 18 and 19. Wind speed will be around 6 km per hour, mostly from southeast. Both day and night temperature will be on the rise.
