Export surge

During the first 8 months of 2025, Russia exported 12,500 tonnes of eggs — 93.3% more than the same period in 2024. Russian egg production increased 6.3% during the first 7 months, reaching 23.18 billion units. Current production exceeds domestic demand by nearly 20%.

Export markets

Russia's egg exports directed primarily toward Kazakhstan (43%), Mongolia (28%), and the UAE (21%). Wholesale egg prices dropped 26.5% to approximately $0.64 per dozen over the past year.

Challenges ahead

The current market downturn may force operational reductions. Producers are exploring shelf-life extension technologies to overcome logistics constraints. Consultant Konstantin Korneev indicated these innovations will require time before meaningfully impacting near-term export capacity.
