Major allocations

The Union Budget 2026 announces significant government investments in India's livestock, dairy, and poultry sectors:

  • Rs 3,880 crore programme (2024-25 and 2025-26) for vaccination drives against Foot and Mouth Disease and Brucellosis
  • Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Development Fund (AHIDF) extended to March 31, 2026 with Rs 29,610 crore total outlay
  • Animal Health Institute — Rs 100 crore
  • Small Livestock Institute — Rs 50 crore
  • Breed Improvement Institute — Rs 50 crore
