HERO BANNER
Expansion plans
KFC has pledged to source 35% of its UK and Ireland chicken from British farms by end of 2026, following a £10 million additional investment that brings total spending to nearly £100 million.
The fast-food chain will now source chicken wings from British suppliers, partnering with 2 Sisters Food Group and Pilgrim's Europe. This expansion means approximately 82,700 metric tons of British chicken annually, with only boneless chicken obtained from other markets.

Welfare standards
All British chicken will be reared at 30kg/m² stocking density.
Industry impact
Marc Hayes, Yum! chief supply chain officer for Europe, emphasized that "long-term sourcing commitments from retailers are essential to ensuring producers and the supply chain have the confidence to invest" amid avian flu pressures and increased demand across Europe.
The partnership demonstrates collaborative efforts to maintain welfare standards while reducing the environmental impact of poultry farming.
